Pierce’s strong first half drives Boston to 6-0

The Celtics continued thei winning way to start the 2007-08 season with a solid win in Indiana.  The Celtics were led by Paul Pierce who lit up the scoreboard with a 23 point first half on his way to a game high 31.  Kevin Garnett is proving to be the best trade of the off season with his sixth straight double double netting 18 points and pulling down 11 boards.

The Pacers kept the game close for most of the first half, but a 13 point outburst by Pierce in the final 3 minutes of the second quarter put the C’s ahead for good.  Ray Allen was quite in the first half and failed to register a basket, but came out shooting with an impressive 15 point third quater.  The only real offense for the Pacers was Danny Granger who tried his best keeping the Pacers close with 24 points.

For those wondering if how many more wind the green and white need to match their franchise best start, well that oul be 14-0 from the 57-58 squad.  Next up for he Celtics are the New Jersey Nets at home tomorow night. The Nets will most likely be without Vince Carter who suffered a grade 1 sprained ankle during the game on Saturday night.
